Since the first time I picked up a needle and thread, I have been sourcing my fabrics as sustainably and ethically as I could. Initially, this was because it was cheaper to get a material second hand – and at first, I would just ‘borrow it’ from my grandma’s stash, and eventually went to sourcing from places like local jumble sales and local haberdasheries.

As a result of this, almost all of my creations are made from reclaimed fabric; curtains, bedsheets, existing garments, or donated fabrics from family and friends. This means I get to create unique pieces that no one else has!

That being said, I am far from perfect, and I do buy new fabrics every now and again; but when I do, I stick to natural fibres, and small businesses as much as possible.

I am committed to promoting a sustainable future. I recognise the need to protect our environment, and I believe that even small actions can make a big difference.

I pledge to:

1. Inform and Educate: I will provide accurate information about sustainability, environmental issues, and eco-friendly practices. Through well-researched articles, I aim to empower my readers with the knowledge they need to make informed choices and take meaningful action.

2. Inspire and Motivate: I will share success stories and ideas that showcase individuals, organisations, and businesses that are making a positive impact on the environment. By highlighting their efforts, hopefully, I can help motivate and encourage people to make changes themselves.

3. Promote Sustainable Choices: I will actively promote sustainable choices and eco-friendly alternatives across various aspects of life, including fashion, food, and more. By offering practical tips, guides, and recommendations, I hope to help readers make sustainable choices that align with their values.

4. Encourage Community Engagement: I plan to foster a sense of community and encourage active participation in sustainability initiatives. Through interactive discussions, forums, and social media engagement, I aim to create a space where like-minded individuals can connect, share ideas, and collaborate on sustainability projects.

5. Lead by Example: I will strive to embody sustainability principles in my operations. From minimizing paper usage and reducing energy consumption to responsibly sourcing our materials, I am committed to practising what I preach. I will continuously seek opportunities to improve my sustainability performance and share my progress with my readers.

Let’s embark on a journey towards a greener, more sustainable future together. Join me as we explore, learn, and work towards a world where people and the planet thrive in harmony.
